SUMMER SCHEDULE - JULY 5 – AUGUST 29, 2010

The practice of Yoga is to unite the mind, body, emotions and spirit in such a way that they flow together as an integrated whole and allow us to realize our full potential.  When we practice a few times a week we experience a benefit and we see and feel the effects of the yoga.  When we practice daily however, the effects multiply and our practice deepens exponentially.  To this end, our summer schedule offers Yoga 7 days a week and we hope you will take advantage of the ‘WOW’ pass to take your practice to the next level. Sunrise Yoga and Sunday Yoga have now been added to our schedule along with two evening Relaxation Yoga classes which also introduce you to meditation.  ENJOY!

Level 1 – Gentle class for anybody.  Welcome beginners- good for pre-natal, post-natal, acute or chronic injuries, anxiety, stress (mental, emotional, physical).

Level 11 – An invigorating class with more advanced postures, to help you deepen your own practice.  You are always encouraged to go within, work at your own pace and listen to your body’s needs of the moment.    

DESCRIPTIONS

YOGA  - Learn how to integrate mind and body: postures, breath work,  stretching, strengthening & relaxation.   Blend of Iyengar, Ashtanga and Kundalini styles to produce a well balanced class.  Leave feeling centered and energized.  You will always be guided to go within and challenge yourself  at your own pace and level of experience. 

Gentle YOGA – Gentle stretching and toning through seated, standing and lying-down postures - designed to open your hips, strengthen your tissues and invite deep breath, peace and calm into your body. Great for beginners, injuries, pre-natal and post-natal.

MeridianYOGA –The focus is on invigorating postures to control and release the healing flow of energy in the body, while freeing blockages along our body’s energy pathways called meridians - coupled with powerful and energizing Kundalini breathwork.

YOGA form/technique –An active form of yoga based on traditional Ashtanga & Iyengar postures. The emphasis is on breath, technique and alignment, to stretch, strengthen and relax the body. Develop skills to awaken the senses and create body awareness.  Good for all levels.  ** On the first Tuesday of every month, Rhonda offers a Restorative Yoga practice at the regular class time.  Restorative Yoga is a passive practice which requires us to use an assortment of props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets, straps and sometimes chairs. Poses are held for several minutes while the body is supported with the various props. A restorative practice can rest your body, stretch your muscles, lower your heart rate and blood pressure and calm your nervous system, moving you into a state of deep relaxation. Take the time out of your busy life to wind down and recharge your battery.

YOGA – What better way to start your morning than with an invigorating Yoga class! Rise early and let the energizing effects of this mind/body work-out set the tone for the rest of your day.  

YOGA Core –
Empower yourself with various core strengthening Yoga postures. Learn how to strengthen the abdomen, back, arms and legs, while developing flexibility and body awareness.  

Relaxation YOGA + Meditation –
Relax the mind and body on a profound level using soothing breathing techniques, acupressure, visualizations, restorative Yoga poses, and various meditations. This gentle class cultivates balance and peace of mind.       

YOGA for Energy
– A vitalizing and uplifting blend of traditional Yoga postures including Kundalini breathing, to banish the blues and stimulate mental clarity, balance and inner joy. If you feel tired, lethargic and lacking in energy lately, this class is for you!

MEDITATION Course – Learn to Meditate 5 week session ~ Basic techniques to teach you how to breathe effectively and focus your attention on the ‘now’.  Experience the powerful benefits of meditation: reduce fear-based thinking, panic, anxiety and pain. Increase deep relaxation, feel calmer and more peaceful, sleep better, be more focused and have more energy!  Learn the basics in an intimate small-group setting. (CD included)
